PRESS RELEASE

The statement below is made without prejudice and all allegations referred therein are supported with appropriate sworn signed affidavits, factual irrefutable documented evidence and extensive investigation.

On the 24/1/2024 the St Albans Community Committee via its President Areti Akamatis, agreed for His Eminence to go on holidays after Easter to see family in the UK.  This was confirmed in writing via email on the same date and via subsequent recorded conversations with its President, Mrs Akamati.  On these conversations the only condition Mrs Akamati imposed was not to inform its members until "the last minute of His Eminences’ departure".  Although His Eminence protested against such a misleading notion, He complied and departed on the agreed date.  Whilst His Eminence was overseas, received a “Termination Letter” from the Committee, with no prior warning, no explanation and no other relevant documentation provided.  The letter was not physically signed, as required, and did not comply with Corporate legislation; as our Archdiocese and the St Albans Community had a written signed agreement based on Contractual Legislation.  Therefore, the “termination of contract” and not the termination of His Eminence, was invalid.  Subsequently Mrs Akamati made a Church announcement (and not public) last Sunday stating that, the “cooperation was terminated because we were unable to see eye to eye”. This malicious excuse of statement is categorically, unequivocally and irrefutably denied by our Archdiocese as we have legitimate reasons to believe that; the termination of contract was the result of a devious and immoral act, as it was done whilst His Eminence was overseas, with no chance to defend Himself or our Archdiocese; in order to silence His Eminence after their Committee received repetitive letters from us with various concerns.  These concerns in the past, raised issues of mismanagement, breach of professional standards, absence of policies required by legislation, breach of professional boundaries, non-disclosable conflicts of interest of its committee members as required by the Incorporation Act, deceptive and misleading acts against their members, acts and processes that breach their own constitution, financial misappropriation, sale or gift giving of items belonging to members of the Church, oppressive behaviour, public votes of no confidence, sexual harassment, deceitful acts against their Members, intrigues, cover ups, undeclared conflicts of interest and a major upcoming investigation initiated by the Commissioner of Children and Young People against their Community. After three attempts in writing by our legal team with proposals of solutions and reconciliation and/or mediation, their Committee ignored them, did not respond and further did not even allow His Eminence to stay the night of His arrival at His place since He arrived very late at night by changing locks in the buildings. As a result of these unlawful and unethical acts, our Archdiocese discontinued any affiliation with Aghia Paraskevi and has initiated legal proceedings, against them to both VCAT for breach of Contract and the Magistrates Court for oppressive behaviour and the request to remove this Committee by Court Order.  Subsequently, a detailed online personal press release from His Eminence Archbishop Nektarios will also be uploaded, in Greek at His Facebook page and YouTube Channel.

My dear children. CHRIST IS RISEN.

As each of us from today and for 40 days exchange the triumphant paean CHRIST IS RISEN, somewhere in our soul there may still be a question. How can we celebrate Easter in a world torn apart by hatred, pettiness, and aggravation? What is the point of chanting "death trample death" when death still remains a stereotypical certainty? Is it possible that this luminous night of the Resurrection will last only a moment, until it is succeeded again by darkness, routine, the same relentless change of days, the same race towards death and feeling empty? No, it cannot be like that. All this joy cannot be a utopia, a chimera that aims to dissolve the filth created in us by the sufferings of everyday life and the uncertainties of our insecurity. It cannot be a self-deception that continues for centuries. Of course, faith is not amenable to scientific documentation. Not even miracles logical explanations. In order to accept the Resurrection, we need to abandon its logical interpretations and limit ourselves to our personal experience, i.e. to the sensory palpation of a historical event. Everything starts from this day of Easter and everything ends with this day. The Church does not provide us with "evidence of the Resurrection" of Christ. It does not seek to convince anyone. The Church invites every believer to "come and see" looking forward to experiencing the Church authentically, personally, within each and every one of us. Supernatural events can only be approached by faith. After all, how can one talk about the mystery in terms of human logic, when the same events mean its transcendence, and call for the discovery of another dimension that is expressed in contrasting terms, such as "unseen view", "unspoken reason", "intangible participle", "anonymous name", "innocent mind", "unspoken reason", "in ignorance of knowledge"? For the unbeliever, this may look like self-deception. They hear only words, watch only incomprehensible ceremonies and interpret them only superficially. For believers, however, all these things radiate from within, not as proof of their faith, but as a result of it. Therefore, Easter is not an event that happened once in the past. It is not just the memory of an event. It is a true meeting in a spirit of joy with Lord Jesus whom our hearts met a long time ago and knew Him as true light and life. We all need this cheerfulness today. To overcome our carnal mind. To be called by God again.

PRESS RELEASE – LEGAL ACTION

After much deliberation, prayer, reflection and in accordance with the Apostolic Letter to the Ephesians 5:11 “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them”; His Eminence our Archbishop lodged today with His Solicitors a lawsuit against the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and two of their Priests, Iordanis (Jordan) Krikelis and Leonidas Ioannou, under the Anti Vilification Legislation with lodgment number 15197367. This is the first ever action taken against the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia from an independent group in order to stand against their tyranny, ostracization, vilification and bullying in respect to independent Orthodox groups whose only desire is to co-exist in peace and harmony among our fellow Orthodox. For many years we have been persecuted by them, called anti canonical heretics and none of our sacraments are recognized. This had to stop! Here and now! In addition to the lawsuit, an application has been made also to Commissioner for Human Rights against the Greek Media Group (Ta Nea-3XY) and Neos Kosmos for their involvement as well as implication to this vilification campaign against us with a view, if there is no mutual conciliation, we will also lodge a lawsuit against them. Enough is enough!

Μετά από πολλή σκέψη, προσευχή, προβληματισμό και σύμφωνα με την Αποστολική Επιστολή προς Εφεσίους 5:11 «Μη λάβετε μέρος στα άκαρπα έργα του σκότους, αλλά αντίθετα εκθέστε τα» ο Σεβασμιώτατος Αρχιεπίσκοπός μας κατέθεσε με τους δικηγόρους Του σήμερα μήνυση κατά της Ελληνικής Ορθόδοξης Αρχιεπισκοπής Αυστραλίας και δύο Ιερείς της, τον Ιορδάνη Κρικέλη και τον Λεωνίδα Ιωάννου, σύμφωνα με την Αντιρατσιστική Νομοθεσία και με αριθμό Πρωτοκόλλου 15197367. Αυτή είναι η πρώτη φορά που έγινε ποτέ κάποια τέτοια ενέργεια εναντίον της Ελληνορθόδοξης Αρχιεπισκοπής Αυστραλίας από μια ανεξάρτητη ομάδα προκειμένου να αντισταθεί στην τυραννία, τον εξοστρακισμό, τις ύβρεις και τον εκφοβισμό τους πρός ανεξάρτητες Ορθόδοξες ομάδες που η μόνη επιθυμία τους είναι να συνυπάρξουν με ειρήνη και αρμονία μεταξύ των Ορθοδόξων αδελφών τους. Εδώ και πολλά χρόνια είμαστε διωκόμενοι από αυτούς, αποκαλούμενοι αντικανονικοί, αιρετικοί και ότι κανένα από τα μυστήρια μας δεν αναγνωρίζεται. Αυτό πρέπει να σταματήσει! Εδώ και τώρα! Εκτός από τη μήνυση, έχει επίσης υποβληθεί αίτηση και στον Επίτροπο Ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων κατά του Ελληνικού Ομίλου Μέσων Μαζικής Ενημέρωσης (Τα Νέα-3ΧΥ) και της εφημερίδας Νέος Κόσμος για εμπλοκή τους καθώς και συνεπαγωγή αυτής της ρατσιστικής μάχης εναντίον μας με σκοπό, εάν δεν υπάρξει αμοιβαία συνδιαλλαγή, να υποβάλουμε και μήνυση εναντίον τους. Φτάνει πια!

ARCHDIOCESAN CIRCULAR NOTE ON EASTER RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD

My beloved Brothers in Christ,

CHRIST IS RISEN

Christ's resurrection was a victory not only over His death, but over death in general. "We celebrate death with death, Hell with purification. . .». Death as a symbol of decay and submission was defeated. And now of course we humans die physically, but the despair of death has been abolished. All human nature was given the dynamics of the Resurrection. The Resurrection of Christ would be meaningless if it were not a universal achievement, if the whole Body could not be resurrected together with the head. The Apostle Paul says it clearly. "The dead are not raised, neither is Christ" (1 Cor. 16:16).

For all people, the Resurrection is a "correction of nature", which God grants to all. It does not depend on our desire whether we rise after death or not, since we were not born even by our own will. Christ's death and Resurrection bring immortality and incorruption to everyone in the same way, since everyone has the same nature as the Man Jesus Christ. However, accompanying Christ in His passion, the Cross and the Resurrection depends on our will, on our love for Him. And he who does not die with Christ cannot live with Him.

Our participation in the life and death of Christ transforms our life into a community. Its core is the Holy Eucharist, the mystery that constitutes the Church. The members of the ecclesiastical body share life not symbolically and morally, but really. This intake no longer serves the self-preservation of each individuality, but the reciprocal access to life. This life is what we miss today. As last year's Easter is marked by the establishment of a new order of things in the world, the smell of death surrounds us, and restlessness overwhelms us.

Yet. "Christ is risen and life reigns". The Resurrection of Christ strengthens our hopes, guarantees our lives, restores the ruins that evil and sin crumble every day. It highlights the change in our way of being. Our centralization in the Eucharistic community, in the Eucharistic way of being, our self-humbling and our self-surrender in the hands of God is the only way to live resurrected with Christ. The faithful Christian does not consider himself worthy of salvation, he does not have any price for its redemption. God's love, the gifts of the Resurrection are enough for him.

Ἀγαπημένοι μου ἐν Χριστῶ Ἀδελφοί,

ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ ΑΝΕΣΤΗ

Ἡ ἀνάσταση Τοῦ Χριστοῦ ὑπῆρξε νίκη ὄχι μόνο ἐνάντια στό θάνατό Του, ἀλλά γενικά πάνω στό θάνατο. «Θανάτου ἑορτάζομεν νέκρωσιν, Ἅδου τήν καθαίρεσιν . . .». Ὁ θάνατος ὡς εἰκόνα τῆς φθορᾶς καί τῆς ὑποταγῆς νικήθηκε. Καί τώρα βέβαια πεθαίνουμε σωματικά οἱ ἄνθρωποι, ἀλλά ἡ ἀπελπισία τοῦ θανάτου καταργήθηκε. Σ' ὅλη τήν ἀνθρώπινη φύση δόθηκε ἡ δυναμική τῆς Ἀνάστασης. Ἡ Ἀνάσταση τοῦ Χριστοῦ θά ἦταν χωρίς νόημα ἄν δέν ἦταν πανανθρώπινο ἐπίτευγμα, ἐάν ὅλο τό Σῶμα δέν μποροῦσε νά ἀναστηθῇ μαζί μέ τήν κεφαλή. Τό λέει μέ σαφήνεια ὁ Ἀπόστολος Παῦλος. «Εἰ νεκροί οὐκ ἐγείρονται, οὐδέ Χριστός ἐγήγερται» (Α´ Κορ. ιε, 16).

Γιά ὅλους τούς ἀνθρώπους ἡ Ἀνάσταση εἶναι μιά «ἀνόρθωσις φύσεως», πού ὁ Θεός παραχωρεῖ σέ ὅλους. Δέν ἐξαρτᾶται ἀπό τήν ἐπιθυμία μας ἄν θά ἐγερθοῦμε μετά θάνατον ἤ ὄχι, ἀφοῦ δέν γεννηθήκαμε κἄν μέ δική μας θέληση. Ὁ θάνατος τοῦ Χριστοῦ καί ἡ Ἀνάσταση φέρνουν ἀθανασία καί ἀφθαρσία σέ ὅλους μέ τόν ἴδιο τρόπο, ἀφοῦ ὅλοι ἔχουν τήν ἴδια φύση μέ τόν Ἄνθρωπο Ἰησοῦ Χριστό. Ὅμως, τό νά συνοδεύσουμε τόν Χριστό στό πάθος Του, στό Σταυρό καί τήν Ἀνάσταση ἐξαρτᾶται ἀπό τήν θέλησή μας, ἀπό τήν ἀγάπη μας γι' Αὐτόν. Καί ἐκεῖνος πού δέν συναποθνήσκει μέ τόν Χριστό δέν μπορεῖ καί νά ζήσει μαζί Του.

Ἡ συμμετοχή μας αὐτή στή ζωή καί στό θάνατο τοῦ Χριστοῦ μεταβάλλει τή ζωή μας σέ κοινωνία. Πυρήνας της εἶναι ἡ Θ. Εὐχαριστία, τό μυστήριο πού συγκροτεῖ τήν Ἐκκλησία. Τά μέλη τοῦ ἐκκλησιαστικοῦ σώματος κοινωνοῦν τή ζωή ὄχι συμβολικά καί ἠθικά, ἀλλά πραγματικά. Αὐτή δέ ἡ πρόσληψη δέν ὑπηρετεῖ πιά τήν αὐτοσυντήρηση κάθε ἀτομικότητας, ἀλλά τήν ὁμότροπη πρόσβαση στή ζωή. Αὐτή ἡ ζωή εἶναι πού μᾶς λείπει σήμερα. Καθώς δέ τό ἐφετεινό Πάσχα σημαδεύεται ἀπό τήν ἐγκαθίδρυση μιᾶς νέας τάξεως πραγμάτων στόν κόσμο, ἡ ὀσμή θανάτου μᾶς περιζώνει, καί ἡ ἀθυμία μᾶς κυριεύει.

Καί ὅμως. «Ἀνέστη Χριστός καί ζωή πολιτεύεται». Ἡ Ἀνάσταση τοῦ Χριστοῦ στεριώνει τίς ἐλπίδες μας, ἐγγυᾶται τή ζωή μας, ἀναστηλώνει τά ἐρείπια πού σωριάζει κάθε μέρα ἡ κακία καί ἡ ἁμαρτία. Προβάλλει τήν ἀλλαγή τοῦ τρόπου τῆς ὕπαρξής μας. Ὁ ἐγκεντρισμός μας στήν Εὐχαριστιακή κοινότητα, στόν εὐχαριστιακό τρόπο ὕπαρξης, ἡ αὐτοταπείνωσή μας καί ἡ αὐτοπαράδοσή μας στά χέρια τοῦ Θεοῦ εἶναι ὁ μόνος τρόπος γιά νά ζήσουμε ἀναστημένοι μέ τό Χριστό. Ὁ πιστός χριστιανός δέν λογαριάζει τόν ἑαυτό του ἄξιο γιά σωτηρία, δέν διαθέτει κανένα ἀντίτιμο γιά τήν ἐξαγορά της. Τοῦ ἀρκεῖ ἡ ἀγάπη τοῦ Θεοῦ, τά δῶρα τῆς Ἀνάστασης.
